15 April 2014 | 01:12 am

MarcCrowdControlHQ, the social media risk management business, has appointed Marc Harris as Chief Technical Officer.

Marc brings with him extensive experience in the TMT sector. Following graduation, with degrees in Computer Science and Communication Systems he joined Electrosonic, a video control software business, as a software developer. Three years later he moved to BigHand, a start-up business building dictation and speech recognition software, as one of a team of two developers. This small team wrote the multi-award winning software that ultimately drove BigHand from a software reseller to global market leader.

As the business grew Harris moved into a management role and worked closely with customers to ensure the software met their requirements. “We grew BigHand into a dominant position in the market on the back of the quality of our software. Key to this was to always put the customer at the heart of any developments and it was this USP that enabled us to grow so rapidly”, he said.

“I see a lot of similarities at CrowdControlHQ. The company has an excellent product, is highly customer focused and is working in a fast growing market. I was looking for a new challenge and I am thrilled to be working with James and the team. James is a dynamic CEO in a young market and I see great potential for the business to grow into a major UK company”, he continued.

James Leavesley, CEO of CrowdControlHQ said:

“I am delighted that Marc has joined us. We are on a very exciting journey and the business is growing rapidly. Marc will play an important role in the business as we move into the next stage of our development and his technical and customer service skills will be a great asset to us.”
